FAQs

Yes there is no limit to the number of nominations you can make. Please read the category descriptions carefully to make sure that your nominees are suitable for the category.

We understand that many people who work for charities go above and beyond – often working over their paid hours. We agree that these individuals should be recognised and celebrated however the Southend Volunteer Awards is for volunteers only and so paid employees of the charity are not eligible for nomination.

Once you submit your nomination, you will receive an email to confirm that the nomination has been submitted. After the closing date, shortlisting will commence. Once three finalists have been confirmed, the charities or organisations they volunteer for will be contacted to confirm that the volunteer supports them. The nominator will then be contacted. Contact with the nominee will be established via either the nominator or the organisation they volunteer for.

The initial shortlisting process is completed by an in house shortlisting committee at SAVS. Once three finalists have been shortlisted the winner is chosen by a judging panel made up of sponsors for the event.

The three shortlisted finalists for each category will be invited to the ceremony along with a member of the organisation that they volunteer for. Other tickets are offered to sponsors and community leaders. The Southend Volunteer Awards are invite only so tickets can not be purchased.

Tickets can not be purchased. The event is invitation only.
